By Sally Adams Apr 12, 2021 Early this morning (4-11-2021) an alleged drunk driver driving a BMW hit a Nissan with a 5 year old in a car seat in the back seat . The impact of the accident caused the Nissan to roll. The driver of the Nissan, who was the boy s father, and the boy were transported to a local hospital where the boy was pronounced dead. The father is expected to survive. The accident happened along the Southwest Freeway feeder road at Fountain View. The BMW driver was able to get out of the car. Witnesses of the accident stopped to render aid and saw the driver try to get away. They detained the driver until authorities arrived. The witnesses told police that the driver was intoxicated. Charges are pending against the driver.
