The DCP said that the call centre was using softwares like VICIdial and eyeBeam. They sent voice messages that warned recipients about the imminent suspension of their social security number (SSN) because of "suspicious activity" and asked them to call back on a specified number.
The bench said that it is imperative that "peace, harmony and brotherhood" is maintained and counter measures are taken to avoid instances of hate speech. The bench further observed that the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) should maintain a record of hate speech complaints and submit it to the nodal officer.
On February 6, 2020 hundreds of allegedly drunk men entered the college during its annual cultural festival. Students alleged that the mob sexually assaulted them in presence of police.
