A booze thief who told Perth supermarket staff that was he carrying a blade and had “friends with guns” has been jailed.
Gary Cummings also invited an employee at Tesco Metro on South Street to meet him around the back of the building to “sort things out.”
HMP Perth inmate Cummings pled guilty to acting in a threatening and abusive manner at the city centre supermarket on September 11 2019.
The single father-of-one was stopped by staff as he tried to leave the store at around 1pm.

A jealous teenager battered a 49-year-old man in Dundee city centre over his “creepy” relationship with his pregnant ex-partner.
Xander Baird, 18, left Barry Cheyne bloodied and bruised after pushing him and stamping on his head in City Square just after 3am.
Baird met his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend and Mr Cheyne for a showdown after a series of abusive text messages throughout the previous day.

A disgraced secondary school teacher has admitted carrying out historical sex attacks on young boys.
Pensioner Andrew Wilson, who was struck off for lewd misconduct in 2011, touched three children indecently at various locations throughout Perthshire and Angus, between 1974 and 1991.
Perth Sheriff Court heard two of his young victims were assaulted at an Angus secondary school.
