(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Wednesday, October 20, at 11:00 a.m., Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC United and Washington Spirit soccer clubs are inviting all women and DC friends to come out to join us for a fun event to highlight the importance of lifesaving mammography services and bring awareness of breast cancer in the District. The event will occur at Audi Field and will be an in-person activation that will include a mobile mammography mamo-van, community resource tabling, giveaways, appearances by players and city leaders.

Mayor Bowser to Host Second Annual Open Streets DC on Georgia Avenue

(Washington, DC) – On Saturday, October 2, at 10 am, Mayor Bowser and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host Open Streets DC. More than 30,000 people are expected to attend this all-day event, which takes place along three miles of Georgia Avenue NW from Barry Place to Missouri Avenue. Starting at 6:00 a.m., the corridor will be open to provide safe spaces for people to walk, bike, scoot, and play without vehicles with programmed activities from 10 am through 3 pm.
