I had originally planned to live in Zone 2 in one of my alternate properties, Delgado wrote in a letter dated Monday but distributed on Tuesday. I had hoped to complete my term or at least make it until the next election was scheduled in order to avoid a special election.
Delgado said he works at his law office at 227 Seabreeze Blvd., about 15 hours a day, and that he has a vested interest as a business owner in the city.
But he also was concerned he would be harassed by some local residents about whether he was violating residency requirements for Daytona Beach elected officials and he didn t want to endure that.
