We have been lazy and allowed ourselves to become complacent in the United States. We turned the keys to the country over to politicians and corporate interests years ago and then expected them to take care of us. Then, we selfishly went about our lives without keeping an eye on the caretakers. We’ve learned a big lesson. We are going to have to take care of ourselves.
