The man who fled from police in Galesburg and ended up fatally striking a Knox County Deputy with a car Friday will face charges of murder and more. The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Daylon K. Richardson of Granite City, Illinois. Richardson will also be facing one count of unlawful possession of weapon by a felon and aggravated fleeing and eluding. He also had several active warrants. Those charges were announced Friday afternoon by Henry County State's Attorney Catherine Runty. Since the deputy was struck in Henry County that's where Richardson will face the bulk of his charges. However, Knox County State's Attorney Jeremy Karlin says additional investigation is ongoing regarding parts of the incident and related crimes that occurred in Knox County. Karlin says there's evidence that shots were fired which prompted the initial pursuit which will prompt charges from his office.
