Endeavors Pride Powers Home At Buffalo | Standardbred Canada

After being claimed for $17,500 last week by owner Michael Torcello, Endeavors Pride made his first return on that investment by winning Buffalo Raceway s featured $11,300 Class AA-Open Handicapped Pace on Saturday night (May 29). Black Is Back worked hard but eventually got to the lead in the main event, setting the tempo with fractions of :28.1, :56.3 and 1:25.3 over the good track. Endeavors Pride was widest of all in the lane, decisively outpacing Daylight Rush and Black Is Back in 1:54.3 to win by a solid length. Endeavors Pride (Keystone Endeavor-Gingerbread Square) is a seven-year-old gelding that has now produced $16,071 in earnings on the campaign and $186,207 in his career. Gerry Sarama trains the $17.00 while Jim Morrill Jr. sat in the bike.

Daylight Rush finished with a flourish on Saturday night (May 15) and convincingly took Buffalo Raceway s $11,200 Class AA-Open Handicapped Pace in 1:53.4, the fastest time of the 2021 meet. Santana Beach led the way from the start with splits of :28.4, :57.0 and 1:25.1 over the fast track. Daylight Rush went first over up the backstretch the final time and drew on even terms with the pacesetter turning for home. Daylight Rush left little doubt in the lane as the eight-year-old gelding pulled away from Santana Beach, enjoying a length advantage at the wire. Black Is Back, the winner of last week s main event, finished in third.

Black Is Back Is Back At Buffalo | Standardbred Canada

It s been nearly six months since Black Is Back went to the winner s circle, but he made it back there on Saturday night (May 8) after taking a three-quarter length win over Mr Ham Sandwich in Buffalo Raceway s $10,500 Class AA-Handicapped Pace. The last time Black Is Back had a photo opportunity was on Nov. 28, 2020 when he won the $8,500 Open I Pace at Batavia Downs. Last week, Black Is Back suffered a tough three-quarter loss to Mr Ham Sandwich but was able to turn the tables on him this time around. Taking control from the start, Black Is Back posted splits of :29, :57.2 and 1:26.2 over the fast track. Things got interesting in the stretch drive with Mr Ham Sandwich taking dead aim on the leader, but Black Is Back gutted it out to hit the wire first. Endeavors Pride took the show position.
