Hotta Rice
At the height of the islandwide lockdown in Jamaica, dancehall selector Hotta Rice made the tough decision to temporarily leave his home to seek out job opportunities in the COVID-ravaged US.
Lamenting that inactivity locally was putting a dent in his finances, Hotta Rice told
THE STAR that the trip was a worthy risk.
Now back home, the selector has to undergo a mandatory two-week quarantine which will see him spending Christmas in lockdown, but that s fine with him. Me and mi kids and mi family a go deh home and yuh done know a early curfew hours fi di Christmas so me OK. Once me deh round my family dem, mi kids dems fi di holiday mi good. The best part a my Christmas a di dinner wid di family and my favourite thing a di cake so once mi have all a dat, lockdown come in like nothing, he said.
