Mom’s Day tea event at Mare Island Preserve is Sunday
VALLEJO Tea will be served from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the main entrance gate to the Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve.
Volunteers with the Mare Island Heritage Trust will play host to the 12th annual Mother’s Day Cream Tea event.
“In past years we have hosted over 100 people, including moms and their families at the Rowser Garden about a half-mile up the hill with spectacular views,” event organizer and former preserve manager Myrna Hayes said in a statement. “Since a suspicious series of fires in September 2019, our land trust and volunteers have been locked out and can no longer reach the charming Rowser Garden location of the first 10 teas. Last year, we held a Virtual Tea that I hosted . . . onboard the River Dolphin via Facebook Live.”
