Jennifer Jones and her team third Kaitlyn Lawes, second Jocelyn Peterman, lead Dawn McEwen and fifth Lisa Weagle got to the Olympics after a Trials final for the ages on Sunday afternoon at the SaskTel Centre.
Brad Jacobs and his team are having fun and playing relaxed, a dangerous combination as they swept past Team Koe 8-3 Saturday to set the stage for a heavyweight tilt against Team Gushue in Canada's Olympic curling trials men's final.
WINNIPEG Like most young curlers, Jennifer Jones grew up with a goal of one day competing at the Scotties. “Honestly, I thought if I could just compete in a Scotties that would be the dream come true,” Jones said ahead of the tournament. Not only did the dream come true, it’s been recurring for nearly two decades. Since making her debut in 2002, Jones has played in 15 Scotties tournaments making the finals nine times and winning a record six times. It is a record she currently shares with Colleen Jones, and former teammate Jill Officer. Here we are, we maybe have the opportunity to win seven titles. So it is definitely meaningful to me,” Jennifer Jones said. I d love to win one with the girls and be able to represent Canada.
