Two men facing a number of firearms charges in relation to a federal RCMP investigation that involved a dramatic car chase in Halifax last week made their first court appearance on Monday morning.
On Wednesday, RCMP members of the federal serious and organized crime unit and the emergency response team attempted to stop a car near Highway 102 and Dunbrack Street.
The vehicle fled and RCMP said police pursued it for about two minutes before officers forced the car off the road. Videos on social media show a car driving over grass and a sidewalk around 3 p.m. with multiple unmarked police SUVs and trucks in pursuit.

Nova Scotia RCMP has charged two men with firearms offences in relation to an ongoing federal investigation into organized crime and drugs in the province.
On Dec. 9, Nova Scotia RCMP Federal Serious Organized Crime and Emergency Response Team (ERT) attempted to stop a car on highway 102 near Dunbrack St. Police pursued the car for two minutes before police forced it off the road. The driver and passenger were arrested at the scene.
During the chase, the car s occupants threw a loaded handgun out of the car window which was recovered and seized by police. Following the arrests, police searched the car and located a significant quantity of drugs believed to be cocaine.

In a release Saturday afternoon, Nova Scotia RCMP say members of its federal serious organized crime and emergency response team attempted to stop a car in the area of Highway 102 and Dunbrack Street Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle fled.
