Just like tearing down city hall or knocking down the golden gate bridge, thats possible but not feasible. Were not going to spend 3 billion dollars to tear down the hetch hetchy dam. Lets not forget, we are also stewards for two dozen cities in the peninsula. Over 2 million californians benefit from the foresight of our forefathers almost 100 years ago in building hetch hetchy. While the rest of the state is tying themselves up in knots trying to figure out where to get their water. Not only did we have the type of water storage hetch hetchy provides, not only today but in the future, we are in a solid place. And to spend this kind of money, and lets just talk about the 8 Million Dollars, i think thats one thing we can agree on. This calls for us to spend 8 Million Dollars. In my own district, out at like merced, were taking that amount of money and building a water recycling plant. Mike wants us to take that money and waste it on a report. Why would we want to spend money to redo wha
Bit easier due to many of these complaints. They make it seem like it is very seamless, but you have to submit all of your medical records, so you can have anything missing. If youre going to make a claim, you have to evidence of that in your medical record. If you never talk about whatever illness or, you have, your claim will get rejected. If that is a fair process on that level, people cannot randomly Say Something was associated with your service, especially when you get off of activeduty, youre supposed to have an exit physical, and you can still do this if you are on active duty. You can get it done while you are at a veteran v. A. Medical center. I followed up at the v. A. Medical center. Then the paper get submitted and documented. It is a slow process, it should not take more than a year, though, if that is a problem that is dragging on like this. Host the v. A. Calls a fully developed claim, what is that . Guest essentially when you submit a claim, just where to get picked up
Almendorf. [ applause ] thank you very much and thank you to all of the candidates who are here today. Were very fortunate to be joined by six candidates and what i hope will soon be seven. All of the candidates have agreed to ask their supporters to be respectful of other candidates and the audience and to maintain quiet during the forum. I ask you to respect that commitment. Every aspect of this forum will be equally fair to all participating candidates. As everyone here knows candidate debates are often limited to latitudinal appears and personal attack. Our debate focuses on critical areas of policy disagreement among the leading candidates. So this end the league of women voters of San Francisco and the San Francisco public press working with researchers at uc davis, developed an issue position survey for the supervisorial candidates. The candidates were asked to state whether they support or opposite 43 specific polices or policy proposals. Many of which have recently divided the
Candidates who wanted to jump in here. Mr. Davis and miss selby. After 1. 5 billion in Public Service sector cuts in San Francisco since 2008, since our budget crisis, we cant balance our budget Going Forward on cuts alone. We have got to look for revenue with muni failing and unmaintained parks we need a comprehensive, aggressive revenue strategy. I was one of the activists and advocates who helped to get the gross receipts measure to the ballot and box g to actually start collecting gross receipts data. I would look at the real estate transfer tax and we were able to add significant revenue that way. He think im the only candidate here who has been talking extensively about a commercial tax rent. Commercial Property Owners in the state of california have been on a tax holiday since prop 13 and under the reagan and bush eras. And we could use that revenue to fund our Public Schools and restore jtor city college. Thank you, miss selby. Two of the things that are being done this novembe
