This is the day we give back to the hard-working nonprofits throughout our region. This year at KDRT (a project of Davis Media Access), we ve continued to produce 35 local shows weekly, and many programmers have learned new skills to allow them to produce from their homes.  This unusual year, your local grassroots radio especially needs your support. Thanks for supporting KDRT on BDOG2021 Fri, 05/07/2021 - 5:20pm | Diane Crumley During the 24 hours of Big Day of Giving (BDOG) on May 6, KDRT and Davis Media Acccess received close to 100 donations, and we exceeded our 24-hour goal for the second year in a row. Thank you for the generous support of our grassroots community media! The 98 participating nonprofits in Yolo County received $1.5 million up 75% from the pre-pandemic 2019 figures, according to the Yolo Community Foundation. Also shattering records was the total of $13.3 million for 688 regional  nonprofits reported by local BDOG organizer, the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Did you plan on donating to KDRT and just not get around to it? No problem. BDOG2021 served as the kickoff for our Annual Spring Appeal Fundraiser. You can donate throughout May and June at kdrt.org/donate.

On this day, local nonprofits highlight the wide variety of services they provide to enhance their communities, and we ask our region to donate to support these important efforts. This past year brought unprecedented needs, but also inspirational responses. Here at KDRT (part of Davis Media Access), we continue to produce 35 local shows weekly, and many programmers have learned new skills to allow them to produce programs from their homes. Let s have a parade! - Davis Enterprise

Shares All are welcome to take to the streets Saturday morning for a do-it-yourself parade in honor of longtime Davis Enterprise columnist and sportswriter Bob Dunning. All types of vehicles cars, trucks, bikes and other wheeled contraptions are welcome, and decorations are encouraged. Participants (no registration is required) are asked to gather before 11 a.m. Saturday in the Veterans Memorial Center parking lot, 203 E. 14th St. The parade will make a huge loop featuring 1.4 miles of right turns only. Coming out of the parking lot, vehicles will head west on 14th Street, pass Dunning and his family in front of Davis High School on the corner of 14th and Oak Avenue, turn north on Oak, then east on Covell Boulevard, south on F Street and west on 14th. Vehicles wishing to depart the parade may go straight or left at any point.
