Almost 5,000 customers were without power in South Charleston and Charleston, on April 1, 2024, due to an equipment failure.
According to an Appalachian Power outage map, the outage affected around 4,800 customers and stretched from the Kanawha River, south along Corridor G to Davis Creek and also parts of Spring Hill in South Charleston.
