While you might not be ready to plunge into the neon river yet, there are local events coming up that have been designed with your safety and entertainment in mind â and weâre all in for these sorts of options.
The first one on the docket is the annual Corkdorks Nashville Wine and Food Festival, which will remain virtual this year since their dates are coming up soon, Friday, April 23, through Sunday, April 25. Even though the experience will be online, organizers have worked hard to put together a really impressive lineup of wine professionals to lead virtual tastings on all three days of the fest.

The wine world has long been carved into two parts: the Old World and the New World. Europe is considered Old World while North and South America, Australia, and South Africa fall under the New World moniker. The New World is catching up to the Old World at light speed, and there is even some evidence the Old World is already pursuing new paths suggesting there is a third world of wine at play we could term the Next World.

The federal excise tax breaks on wine initially approved on a temporary basis three years ago could become permanent - if President Trump signs the $900 billion coronavirus economic stimulus bill containing the provisions.
The tax benefits of the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act (CBMTRA) were included in the bipartisan legislation the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate approved Monday, a bipartisan bill large enough to fill 5,600 pages.
It remains unclear if or when the president would sign the bill into law. On Tuesday, Trump called the massive bill a “disgrace” and asked Congress to amend it, in part to increase the amount of provision checks included in the legislation from $600 to $2,000, according to news reports.
