The Providence Day girls, winners of the NCISAA D1 title, took top honors in the girls rankings while the Cuthbertson boys, winners in the NCHSAA 3A, were also No. 1 and followed closely behind by 4A champ Millbrook at No. 2.
After a rough start in the opening set, Davie County's volleyball team won three-straight sets to defeat visiting South Iredell 3-1 in the second round of the NCHSAA 4A state playoffs, by set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-14.
The 4A Women's State Meet was a fast one, as three State Meet Records fell by the wayside. In the team competition, the Olympic Women and Millbrook Men grabbed team championships at the 2021 1A State Track & Field Championships. The Olympic Trojans claimed their second team title all time, their first since 2000, while Millbrook claimed the program's first team championship.
