Helping Hands: Churches and schools join to feed those in need

“Our call as Christians is to love the least of us and take care of them,” said Rev. Brad Treece, coordinator of the South Davidson Missional Network, speaking about a recent partnership with local schools to serve those in the community who are the most in need.
The South Davidson Missional Network’s most recent collaboration is with Silver Valley Elementary School to operate a food pantry and clothing closet.
The network, which is made up of 17 Methodist churches in Southern Davidson County, uses both physical items and monetary donations to supply items, such as canned goods, clothing, and other non-perishable items for a free pantry located inside the school.
