Teen battling cancer 2nd time will benefit from fundraiser Overwhelming is how organizers of a fundraiser to help a Davidson County teenager battling cancer a second time described the support they have received from the community and beyond. A fundraiser to help Gavin Hill s family with expenses related to his treatment at Levine Children s Hospital in Charlotte will take place from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 15 at Center United Methodist Church in Welcome. There will be a  pancake and sausage breakfast, silent auction with more than 100 items and entertainment. Cost of the breakfast is by donation only. The church is located at 186 Center Church Road.
