Davidson County sees reduction in new COVID cases

After two months of rolling out its COVID-19 vaccination program, Davidson County is starting to see some positive results and is getting some reinforcement later this month.
As of Feb. 9, Davidson County has a 12 percent positivity rate, which is the percentage of tests that came back positive in the past two weeks; it is a reduction from the 13.9 percent last week. The positivity rate on Jan. 16 was 17.8 percent.
There have been 1,216 new cases of COVID confirmed in Davidson County in the past 14 days, which is 725 cases per 100,000 residents. On Jan. 21, there were 2,117 new cases confirmed in a 14 day period, which was 1,263 cases per 100,000 residents.
