Miguel J. Nuñez, who is fluent in English and Spanish, has served as deputy director since 2017, and he will replace Robert B. Rapoza, who is retiring.
But board voted to subpoena all who collected signatures for Matos for a hearing after the Sept. 5 Democratic primary in the First Congressional District race.
The decision comes 18 days after the board placed the lieutenant governor on the Sept. 5 Democratic primary ballot in the First Congressional District race.
