Opinion/letter: Plymouth s form of government
Wicked Local
Paul Cunningham s recent letter on vaccine locations noted that Plymouth is the largest town in Massachusetts which still has the Town Meeting form of government. In actuality, Plymouth is the largest town in all of New England with the Town Meeting form of government. Per our town clerk, our population in 2021 is 63,042; the next nearest towns are Brookline (59,180) and Arlington (45,182). Not only are we the largest, but we are the fastest growing: Plymouth has grown by 11.9% from its 2010 population of 56,468. Brookline has only grown by .7% and Arlington by 5.4% over the same period. We are the largest in the commonwealth with a Town Meeting, and getting larger at a higher rate.
