A fireworks show over Caroline Bay ushering in 2021 promises to be Timaru s biggest yet with more than 100 extra units set to launch. Pyrotechnician and Caroline Bay Association volunteer Alan Woolstencroft was “absolutely” confident there would not be a repeat of the last New Year pyrotechnic display, when technical issues delayed the show for four minutes and ultimately left more than two thirds of the 269 individual fireworks unlit. “We’ve replaced all our cabling. That was our biggest worry,” Woolstencroft said.
