With no sign, as yet, of live music returning to Cork s venues, the Cork Orchestral Society has decided to bring the mountain to Mohammed though a series of exciting free monthly online concerts.
Featuring performances by some of Ireland s foremost classical musicians, the concerts will be streamed live on the society s website between January and June.
The first of these will take place this coming Saturday at 6pm and feature a performance by the newly formed Cork ensemble 13 Strings, with a programme featuring Telemann s Don Quixote Suite , Mozart s Divertimento in B flat , (K. 125b), Grieg s Two Elegiac Melodie s and Mendelssohn s String Sinfonia no.2 in D .
