High school wrestling: Airline s Perry wins 113-pound class in Louisiana Classic

Airline sophomore Ernie Perry III won the 113-pound weight division in the 48th Louisiana Classic tournament held Friday and Saturday in Gonzalez. It was Perryâs second title in the event. He won the 106-pound class last year and went on to win the Division I state title in the same division. The Louisiana Classic annually features most of top wrestlers in the state. Parkway senior Hayden Wood finished fourth in the 160-pound class. Parkway junior David Viers was fifth in the 113-pound class. Airlineâs Christian James made the awards stand with a sixth-place finish in the 182-pound class.
