COVID-19 is a health crisis comparable to the magnitude of war. Amid that war is a battle over the language used to describe the virus along with its victims and survivors. Two experts weighed on the growing issue.
“We should not be using any adjectives to describe people based of the outcome of their battle with COVID-19,” Family Medicine Resident Physician, part of the TIGMER-Laredo Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. David Tyler King, DO said. “You’re either a survivor or a victim. Whether or not you die from COVID-19 dictates nothing about your resilience as a person.
