phoenix and elizabeth cohen is here, too. david, let s first go to you. and your response to the governor s words about empty rhetoric and i was reading that governor brewer was saying look, you need to be someone involved in trying to find a workable plan to resolve arizona s budget crisis first. good morning. let me just say, the governor s spoerk person has said that i ve been asked for a year to provide a plan and i haven t, so i can t be out there calling for her to restore this funding. i haven t been sworn in yet. i ve never been asked for a plan. the previous leadership may have been asked. i ve never had a conversation with the governor or the governor s spokesperson about that. we ve got to put this politics aside. forget it.
the gentleman with the oxygen, that was somebody denied a transplant and die you hland ddd transplant and die you hied. this morning on american morning, we talked to another patient who is worried that is what is going to happen to her if this money is not restored. so while people wait, the politicians, of course, they re pointing fingers and one state lawmaker, democratic minority leader, says he s trying to restore that funding and is urging the governor to use federal stimulus money to help. the spokesman for jan brewer says democrats were asked more than a year ago for a plan that could work, but so far, all they ve been offered is empty words. all right. we are talking with the democratic minority leader in arizona now who says what s happening in his state amounts to a death panel. remember that term? david spire joins us from
