COVID-19 by the numbers New Mexico health officials yesterday reported 494 new cases half as many as just four days prior bringing the statewide total so far to 169,696. Of those, the health department has designated 95,848 as recovered. Bernalillo County had 143 new cases, followed by Doña Ana County with 68 and San Juan County with 49. Santa Fe County had 19 new cases. The state also announced 12 additional deaths, including a man in his 70s from Santa Fe County who was hospitalized. There have now been 3,157 fatalities statewide. In a news update yesterday afternoon, Human Services Secretary Dr. David Scrase confirmed that both daily cases and hospitalizations are decreasing, saying that those officials who review the numbers each morning are feeling this downward trend is real and hope you will all partner with us by sustaining it.
