SPENCER Selectmen said this week they want to try to use the Spencer Fairgrounds as a mass vaccination site and will reach out to neighboring communities to see if they ll join in.
Town Moderator William Shemeth told the board he spent hours on the phone trying to get his parents, both more than 75, signed up for their COVID-19 vaccines. He was eventually able to get them their shots at Big Y and the process was seamless. However, he wonders if an increased demand for vaccines as the state moves into a different tier will make it harder to get appointments.
