An alliance of West Norfolk leaders has fired off a letter to health secretary Matt Hancock, demanding the replacement of the crumbling Queen Elizabeth Hospital at King s Lynn.
The West Norfolk Partnership (WNP) has urged Matt Hancock to prioritise a new hospital for the area - or risk it being left behind .

The QEH remains in a state of disrepair, with 194 props supporting the roof in more than 40 parts of the hospital.

Building work is due to start next week on the new £600,000 School of Nursing Studies at the College of West Angliaâs Lynn campus.
The collegeâs existing print room building will be demolished to make way for the training facility.
The new facility will include space mirroring a real-life clinical environment with a hospital ward.

It had been hoped that the first students would start their training there in the autumn but now it will be January, 2022, with 20 trainees coming direct from the QEH on the Level 5 Nursing Associate Apprenticeship.
