San Diego startup aiming to disrupt metal 3D printing lands $19 3M from Intel Capital, Mark Cuban and others

Print Fabric8Labs, a San Diego startup that’s developing a fundamentally new approach to metal 3D printing, landed $19.3 million in a Series A funding round led by Intel Capital and existing investors including Mark Cuban. The roughly 25-employee company will use the funds to deploy beta printers with its technology at partner firms to make real world parts. Fabric8Labs declined to name those partners, but its target markets include electronics, semiconductor packaging, medical and radio frequency components. Founded in 2015 by Jeff Herman and David Pain, who attended La Costa Canyon High School together, Fabric8Labs has developed a non-thermal method for metal 3D printing. The patented process builds complex parts at the atomic level, enabling superior density and surface finish at small sizes.

The impact of the pandemic is going to be felt for a long time. The Diocese is developing a Mission and Pastoral Plan and we have an agreed financial framework with which to face the future with confidence. We continue to be about Renewing Hope as we Pray, Serve and Grow.
