Fatal Collision Friday In Ashe Published: 11 January 2021 The NC Highway Patrol Friday morning responded to a fatal collision in Ashe County NC 16 near Shatley Road. The Ashe Post and Times reports a 2001 Ford Ranger was traveling north on NC 16, ran off the road to the left, traveled down an embankment, and overturned. The driver, David Oscar Osbourne, 74, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., succumbed to his injuries at the scene. There were no passengers. Osbourne was not wearing a seat belt. According to the report, the initial investigation does not indicate impairment to be a contributing factor. It was snowing at the time of the crash.

(WBTV) - A Virginia man has died in a collision off NC 16 in Jefferson Friday morning. North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident about 8:30 a.m. Officials say a Ford Ranger driven by David Oscar Osbourne of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia was heading north but ran off the road to the left. He then went down an embankment and overturned. Osbourne was not wearing a seatbelt. He died on scene. There were no passengers.
