Tennessee put up a run in the third and had six runs in the fourth on five hits. Clarke cut the lead to 7-2 with the home run to left.
Andrew Eyster made it 7-4 with a two-run home run to center in the eighth inning, but the Vols answered with a three-spot in the ninth for the series opening win.

LEXINGTON, Ky. â Junior Brett Kerry went the distance, striking out 10 and allowing just four hits to pitch the first complete-game shutout for the University of South Carolina baseball team in seven years as the Gamecocks defeated Kentucky, 9-0, Saturday afternoon (May 15) at Kentucky Proud Park. Kerry only needed 94 pitches to earn his fourth win of the season. It also was his first start of 2021. Carolina gave Kerry all the runs he needed in the first on an RBI groundout from Josiah Sightler.

Mark Kingston knew how important Sundayâs game was for his team as the Gamecocks tried to salvage a game against Mississippi State at home.
Needing a win to avoid back-to-back sweeps and a seventh straight loss, the Gamecocks walked off the Bulldogs to not only get back to even in the SEC but also keep any hope of hosting a regional alive.

COLUMBIA – David Mendham’s RBI double in the bottom of the 11th that scored Jeff Heinrich lifted the University of South Carolina baseball team to a 4-3 extra-inning win over No. 4 Mississippi State Sunday afternoon (May 9) at Founders Park.
Heinrich singled to right with one out and scored from first on Mendham’s double to the gap in left. Carolina was down to its last at-bats in the ninth, but Heinrich doubled to right to score pinch runner Noah Myers, tying the game at three.
