Norfolk Circuit Judge David Lannetti refused to order Sentara Healthcare to immediately end its ban on using ivermectin and several other drugs on its COVID-19 patients. The judge’s ruling, however, doesn’t put an end to the case. It will still move forward to trial, according to Marik’s attorney Fred Taylor.
"Obviously, the case itself is not over, but we are weighing our options in regard to the motion for injunction," attorney Fred Taylor told News 3 in a text message.
Dr. Paul Marik learned about his two-week suspension when he arrived for work Saturday at Norfolk General Hospital's intensive care unit, according to his attorney. The letter informing him about it was dated two days earlier, the same day he asked a Norfolk Circuit Court judge to order Sentara Healthcare to lift its ban on using ivermectin on COVID-19 patients.
