We represent about 850 communitybased communication providers who actually started off as Telephone Company in areas where the Large Companies chose not to provide service 50, 100 years ago because it is rural, it is remote, hard to make a Business Case for a large corporation. So these folks actually built up these Telephone Networks and have evolved service wise and are now, essentially, broadband providers. Weve got about twothirds of our membership that also do video, about half to a wireless play of some sort. So they are truly the onestop shop for Communication Service in Rural America. Guest i have carriers in 46 states. I have Community Held companie in iowa. They are folks that provide service to again Rural Americans in general. I have folks who are dog Amazing Things because this is the community they live. As an example, i have a cooperative in eastern kentucky, one of the lowest income portions in the country. They are looking at ways to create broadband and growth and they partner with an entity to Bring Customer Service training. The broadband is provided by one Member Company and the folks are able to work from home and to do teleworking which requires traditional actees to do it. I have companies on

It is about five years of research i have been doing. So i will describe what it is. And for the last 80 years if you want to know, what people want, why people did the things they do, what people are going to do, you basically one main approach. You asked them. You conduct a randomized survey. So you go out and ask people questions. And there is a main problem with this approach which is that people tend to lie to surveys to make themselves look good. So if you ask people immediately before an election, are you planning to vote . The overwhelming majority of americans in the survey will say sure, i am going to vote in the election. They do not want to

There is a lot of work to do when it comes to broadband coverage, mobile coverage is something i care about in particular. Really connecting communities and really bridging these digital divides.
