State House, Freetown, Thursday 4 February 2021 –His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio has awarded the three top-performing Ministries, at the inaugural Presidential Award ceremony on 4 February 2021. Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation with the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre are the best performing public institutions.  The President, however, emphasised that the exercise was meant to incentivise and encourage each MDA to go over and beyond the call of duty to provide exemplary leadership and produce the best outcomes. “This is an annual event and I want to be able to give awards to every Ministry here next year. Your challenge is to make it impossible for me to recognise just a few outstanding performances.

Peter Joseph Francis, former High Commissioner and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sierra Leone to Kenya. My prayer is that God almighty provide a gap filling person for the Francis family, said President Bio. He also prayed that God forgives his sins and grant him heaven. During the memorial mass, President Bio said it was very difficult to pay a tribute to such a dedicated and caring person.

 10 December 2020 at 18:15 |  Contributed The Sierra Leone House of Parliament has unanimously passed into law the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion Bill that was presented before it by the Honourable Chief Minister, Professor David John Francis (photo), after several debates and scrutiny of the bill. Professor Francis thanked the leadership of Parliament and Honourable Members from all sides of eye for bringing the process to a final stage of enactment. He called on parliamentarians to look at the spirit of the bill and the genuine intention of His Excellency the President, Brigadier General (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio of making Sierra Leone a peaceful and develop Country.
