The detailed brick walls of the Mayflower Building have welcomed people to downtown Bemidji for well over a century, first as a wholesale grocery house and now as a hub for local entrepreneurs and as a building emblematic of looking toward the future of Bemidji.
Greater Bemidji, in partnership with the Department of Employment and Economic Development, is seeking proposals from organizations and individuals to open or expand child care services in the area.
Each entrepreneur will present a five-minute pitch to a panel of judges followed by a five-minute question and answer session. The event is free and open to the public.
At a public meeting held by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison in Bemidji on the proposed merger between Sanford and Fairview Health systems, a wide range of opinions and concerns were shared.
About two-thirds of speakers at a public meeting voiced support for the deal and the South Dakota-based health system, which has owned the town s hospital since 2011.
