Event. At the Elementary School in san jose, a time to say thank you, and these people answered the call for help after coyote creek flooded nearby neighborhoods exactly one year ago today. It was a tuesday afternoon, and we can still remember. We didnt know what was going on. Reporter chris was one of 100 students at the school directly impacted by the flooding. That day was very emotional for me. Reporter they were rescued by boat from their flooded rock spring neighborhood. They stayed with family for a month while their home was repaired, but it was the community from the Elementary School and Franklin Mckinley School District that gave them food, clothing, and gift cards to help with everyday needs. Our Community Needs help, and well step up doing whatever we can. Reporter this group stepped up. About 38,000 dollars was raised by teachers and the community to buy gift cards to give to the families. Food, clothing, and other items were donated and handed out on campus in the weeks
