Lot owner argues proposed dump in SE Colorado Springs is a benefit as neighbors push back
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) The man behind the effort to put a trash transfer station in Southeast Colorado Springs argues that it would bring benefits to the neighborhood, despite a neighbor-led petition that alleges it would decrease property value in the area.
David Deighton is the Operating Manager of Citywide LLC, the company that purchased the lot to move a trash transfer station into the neighborhood. He believes this new station will cut down on illegal dumping in the area, and add convenience for anyone trying to dump their trash. He said the area is growing rapidly and doesn t have enough transfer stations, so this will help support that growth.
