Vintage Theatre to Present CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF

“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is the scorching drama surrounding a Southern family in crisis, especially for Brick and his wife “Cat.” When the family gathers in the oppressive Mississippi heat to celebrate Big Daddy’s birthday, old secrets, sexual tensions, and hidden agendas swell just beneath the sweaty surface. Tennessee Williams’ searing, poetic portrait of a family’s fight for survival is a twentieth century masterpiece.

The predominant materials are stone, wood, traditional flooring, metal, and white cement as wall cladding. © David Cervera Traditional houses in the historic center of Mérida used cement floors in the shape of mosaics with colorful and different designs, forming mats in the spaces and marking a pattern in the decor of each room. Our proposal takes up the material and concept but turns them into large areas of white cement and other surfaces with integrated mineral green pigment, strongly defining the color palette that becomes one of the characteristic features of the house.

Helping Hands: Trine students design low-cost prosthetic limbs for teens

ANGOLA — Prosthetics can be a blessing for people who are missing a limb, but they’re also very expensive. That expense can make them impractical for children and adolescents who are constantly growing and changing. However, a senior design group of Trine University engineering majors completed a project this year that provided solutions for two teenage girls born without left hands. With support from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s Helping Hands Fund, the team of Marissa Shaver, a biomedical engineering major from Fostoria, Ohio, Ben Avey, a mechanical engineering major from Pendleton, David Cervera, a biomedical engineering major from South Bend and Karina Bruce, a biomedical engineering major from Findlay, Ohio, designed low-cost prosthetics that will allow the girls to perform routine tasks such as curling their hair.
