Oakland Police Believe somebody saw something. The 60yearold hit in one run victim has not been identified. It is surprisingly how people dont even watch for pedestrians. Reporter he says he had his own closed call. I was hit almost by a motorcycle. Reporter one half of a block from where we are standing, a sixyearold woman lost her life the victim of a hit and run. She was run down as she walked across 14th street and the 400 block. The driver fled the scene in a fourdoor sedan. The investigation closed a one block stretch for hours leaving investigators saying even crosswalks can be dangerous. Even when it says its okay for me to walk i still look left and right. Reporter the eye unidentified woman was taken to Highland Hospital where she died later from her injuries. Police have no description of the driver. Suffer burns. The explosion happened near times square this morning. At least three other people were injured. Reporter we are outside of the Port Authority bus terminal in manhattan, about a block west of times square. This is where this terrorist incident took place this morning, about 7 20 a. M. According to the nypd Police Commissioner james oneill, the device exploded inside a tunnel connecting two of the major subway lines where passengers connect and the suspect can be seen on Surveillance Video walking eastbound in that tunnel and then the explosion. The suspect himself suffered serious burns in that explosion. The only other known injuries at this time considered minor described by the fire commissioner as a ringing in the ears. To me it wasnt that loud. Like i said, it sounded more like a gun shot or something going off. And then you see the smoke. Was , with this recent drought and with Empirical Data as to the particulates and the increase in the depletion of our ozone level, we need to represent the people, and we need to conserve our resources, so we know and i hope we know that for thousands of years, the regional people who lived here who called this place total island preserved the resources. And then in the last 250 years, we created this concrete jungle and we have to live with it. And this commission, the San Francisco Public Utilities commission is duty bound to preserve our resources and you are uniquely duty bound because you have jurisdiction over large areas where the city of county of San Francisco because at one time, we not only had jurisdiction over San Francisco but as far as palo alto, and i know some of you commissioners who in their day and age know about this and i hope the other commissioners are given an orientation about it, so in short, we are duty bound to look after our resources.
