Host how did you get interested or acted. I got a chance early in life who taught me how to do it. She was quite a powerful designer. So in the defining gardens and writing about the environmental history i realized i was quite ignorant about what i was doing. I knew how to do it and i could do english garden with a modern house that is strictly i didnt know why people needed these things and it came to me quite strongly that only by ignorance but it was an interesting question. The California Historical society, what a great place for great work that is preserving our cultural and historic heritage here in california. And the partner, the sierra club. Its hard to say because i dont think they had an incentive to move quickly at that point in time. But they took about two years. And part of that may have been driven by the Environmental Review and. Yeah. Weve consulted with the Planning Department and we do have the waterfront Supplemental Environmental Impact report. I think the early read is that we may be able to tier off of that prior environmental work for this project, that it was the type of use that was contemplated. And though i am biased, i firmly believe it is the best one in the country. So thank you for being here. We are absolutely delighted today to have two unbelievably talented authors on our panel talking about the environment both past and future. Im going to start at the end. Id like to welcome maya cave and ross and to austin and to the book festival. She is an author. Lawyer and activist. For 30 years, she has led the Delaware River Keeper Network, which is the area where she grew up and lives now with her family. And she is the founder of the green amendment for the generations, which is the subject of her book, which has been updated.
