Thundermist begins vaccinating healthcare workers
Natalia Munoz, medical assistant lead at Thundermist Health Center, shows off her band-aid after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
WOONSOCKET – Thundermist Health Center began vaccinating healthcare workers at its three sites in Woonsocket, West Warwick and South County against COVID-19 this week.
Employees received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Nearly 400 employees, many of whom have been on the front lines providing care and testing in the center s respiratory clinics, were expected to receive the vaccine by the end of the week.
“Our employees have been on the frontlines of this crisis. Their bravery, dedication and sacrifices helped many in our community during the last ten months. Vaccinating our health care workforce means our nearly 700 employees will continue to be able to serve our community and help limit the spread of COVID-19, said Thundermist President/CEO Jeanne LaChance.
