Not every EV uses the same kind of plug - here are the main ones in New Zealand.
The network of public EV charging stations around the country is continuing to increase, with The Warehouse and Meridian Energy both recently revealing expansions to their public charger networks. The Warehouse Group (TWG) announced that it is expanding and upgrading its charging station infrastructure, increasing its network to a total of 28 Warehouse stores around the country offering free EV charging. Thirteen of the sites have been upgraded to 25kW DC chargers. The company says the expansion was enabled by a $265,000 grant from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority’s (EECA) Low Emission Vehicles Contestable Fund that it received last year. Additional charging stations have been installed at its Kaitāia and Waipapa stores, while another will be installed at The Warehouse Greymouth next month.
