Thousands of people have signed petitions today demanding Piers Morgan returns to Good Morning Britain.
Three separate online campaigns are urging bosses to offer the journalist his job back in the wake of his dramatic exit last night.
One - called Bring Back Piers Morgan! - accused the channel of treating him appallingly .
And a third, signed by more than 35,000 people, described getting him sacked as an absolute farce .
There has also been an outpouring of support on social media as viewers lament his loss from the show - and vow to stop watching it from now on.
Mr Morgan is understood to have been ordered to apologise - but he refused and quit, instead saying he had the right to tell viewers his honestly held opinions and declaring: Freedom of speech is a hill I m happy to die on .

Former Conservative MEP David Bannermen said such a review would reveal how important the mechanism - known as the Barnett Formula - is to Scotland and the UK. Mr Bannerman tweeted: I am appealing to Rishi Sunak, Steve Barclay and HM Treasury for an urgent immediate review on Barnett Formula - not to scrap it, as the SNP wants - but to show just how vital it is to Scotland and the UK.
Another looked further afield, writing: “I m looking forward to seeing more Canadian Cheddar as it has always been my favourite but hard to get.”
He added: “On the English front Somerset Brie is very good as well as Stinking Bishop and Marmite cheese.”
And another said somewhat less diplomatically: “Somerset Brie is far better than the French rubbish.”

Rsponding to the predictions, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab acknowledged there would be “bumps along the road” but insisted he is “not concerned”.
