Rumors of armed marches planned for every state capitol in the country Sunday afternoon, turned out to be nothing in Harrisburg, where only a handful of people showed up without incident. This man explained why he was there. I think there s a lot of unhappy American citizens. I think there s a lot of people who feel their legislators don t represent their interests. I think that they don t know how to resolve that and feel kind of lost, one protester said. Capitol police were guarding the Capitol building and state troopers on horseback were positioned throughout the city.
Trenton remained relatively quiet over the weekend after officials warned of potential protests ahead of inauguration day Wednesday. Police were prepared for protesters in front of the Statehouse on Sunday, but only a few showed up.
