Evans was the first person to break 44 seconds in the 400m when he did so at the Mexico City Olympics in 1968, aged just 21. He was also part of the winning men’s 4x400m relay event at the same games. USA Track and Field confirmed that Evans died on Wednesday. The Mercury News in San Jose reported in May that Evans’ children had started a fundraising campaign to bring Evans back to the US from Nigeria, where he was a coach, after he suffered a stroke.

Andrew Yang Sides With Israel Against Terrorism and, of Course, the Left Is Losing It

AP Photo/Chris Carlson If you want to stay in the good graces of the left on Twitter, one thing you don’t want to do is take Israel’s side against actual terrorists when said terrorists lob rockets at innocent civilians in Israel. Former Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang apparently didn’t get the memo and after the terrorist group Hamas lobbed rockets into Israel, Yang sent out a tweet letting everyone know whose side he was on and didn’t dance around calling Hamas what they were. “I’m standing with the people of Israel who are coming under bombardment attacks, and condemn the Hamas terrorists,” wrote Yang. “The people of NYC will always stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel who face down terrorism and persevere.”

Rick Santorum slammed for dismissing Native American culture: 'There was nothing here' when colonists arrived

Rick Santorum’s recent bit of revisionist history was not received well on the internet. Santorum, a former Penn Hills resident who represented Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate for 12 years, told a student conference on Friday that “there was nothing here” when European colonizers “birthed a nation from nothing” upon arriving in what would become the United States. The CNN senior political commentator told the seminar during remarks at a Young America’s Foundation event, “I mean, yes, we have Native Americans, but candidly, there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture.” ‘We came here and created a blank slate. We birthed a nation from nothing. I mean, there was nothing here. I mean, yes, we have Native Americans, but, candidly, there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture.’ Rick Santorum in a wildly white supremacist comment pic.twitter.com/jUxkm9vNZJ
