Fairford news with Chris Roberts BECAUSE of the Covid lockdown restrictions, the new Stedy Chefs Learning Centre Open Day will now be held virtually on Monday, February 1, from 12noon till 4pm. The Stedy Chefs team will be hosting the open day online to showcase their new learning centre in Lechlade for adults with disabilities and additional needs. THE Community Wellbeing Action Group, that started in Fairford in October 2019, before anyone had even heard of Covid-19, a pandemic or a lockdown, is now looking for a volunteer coordinator to actively promote the health and happiness of our communities and to work closely with local government and local, county and nationwide charities.

Fairford news: Building a happier and healthier community

Fairford news with Chris Roberts THE usual Christmas lunch arrangements for people on their own in and around Fairford could not be held this year, so organisers Amanda and Mervyn Cully made up 42 goody boxes for the members of the Edna Dawes Lunch Club as well as for those couples and individuals who would normally have attended the Christmas Day Lunch in Fairford Community Centre. They also provided hampers for 27 families in the community that were suggested by Fairford Primary and Farmor’s Schools. Amanda and Mervyn wish to thank Fairford Rugby Club, The Long Table and Fairford Town Council for their support and the wonderful team of volunteers, who packed and delivered everything to help a few people in the community to have a better Christmas than they might otherwise have had.
