Ancelotti looking at another summer of upgrades Lyndon Lloyd Monday, 17 May, 2021
Carlo Ancelotti suggests that Everton don t have the personnel to play anything other than the defensively-solid game based on direct attacking play that he has employed for much of this season.
In comments made during his post-match press conference following last night s humiliating home defeat to relegated Sheffield United, the Italian remarked that he would need to address the shortcomings of his squad through the transfer market this summer, although much will depend on whether the club is in Europe or not next season.
The Blues began the season in red-hot form, averaging three goals a game in all competitions and storming to the top of the Premier League by early October. A gruelling season has taken its toll in the meantime and seen Ancelotti s team lose their way, particularly at home where they have won just once since
Farcical goal seals undeserved historic win for Carlo Fantastico Holgate keeping his place is a joke. Dave Abrahams 3 Posted 23/04/2021 at 19:08:30 Moss will be made up with Evertons midfield, hell have no trouble keeping up with them. Danny Broderick 4 Posted 23/04/2021 at 19:10:43 Looks like 4-2-3-1 to me. Seems reasonably balanced, I m not convinced about Sigurdsson and Rodriguez in the same team though. For all of our best games at the start of the season, Sigurdsson was in the bench.
Let s wait and see anyway. I m guessing Saka is at left back for them, their team doesn t look great to me.
Moshiri slams breakaway Super League as Everton urge rebel 6 to backtrack Lyndon Lloyd Tuesday, 20 April, 2021
Everton owner, Farhad Moshiri, has branded the decision by 12 European clubs, six of them from the Premier League, to form a practically closed-shop Super League as preposterous arrogance and called for disciplinary measures to be taken against them.
Meanwhile, in a statement from the Everton Board of Directors and an email to supporters from CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale, the club outlined its commitment to the football pyramid and principles of open competition and sporting merit.
The 14 Premier League clubs excluded from the Super League have also unanimously rejected the plan and said, in a statement, that they are considering all options to prevent it.
Super League on the brink of collapse as English clubs withdraw Lyndon Lloyd Tuesday, 20 April, 2021
BREAKING NEWS
The controversial breakaway Super League all but collapsed this evening as Manchester City formally withdrew and were followed by all five of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham out of a venture that has sparked a vociferous backlash by supporters.
As fans clogged the road at the players entrance at Stamford Bridge ahead of Chelsea s Premier League match against Brighton this evening to provide a visual emblem of the near-universal disgust at the proposed closed-shop league, the founding of which by 11 other rebel clubs was only made official on Sunday night, the London club became the first to lose its nerve.
