In 2003, the first storycorps recording booth open in new york citys Grand Central station. Since then, nearly 100,000 people have recorded interviews with their loved ones in storycorps booths across the country. Their voices are burned into a cd for the people who do the interview and their loved one, and then preserved at the american folk like ray center elaborate congress. Today, 10 years and some 50,000 interviews after its inception, storycorps stands as the largest collection of voices ever gathered in history.
